Job Description
Our clients Transmission and Distribution division operates in the competitive electricity utilities in the UK and overseas. We provide value-added engineering services and built solutions across the entire spectrum of electricity networks, from high voltage power transmission grids to low voltage industrial power distribution and controls.
We are looking for Electrical Design Engineer as part of a highly motivated and dynamic Transmission and Distribution Design Team based in Bangalore. This role requires a person with HV Transmission (132kV) experience to undertake detailed engineering design roles for our projects in Power distribution sector primarily in the UK. This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified person to gain experience within an internationally renowned consultancy
Requirements
Candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:
Electrical BEng or MEng qualified
Sufficient and appropriate Transmission Network Project experience gained within a client organisation, engineering consultancy or equipment supplier
Experience in one of more of the following areas is also required:
Distribution (upto 132kV) electrical plant and configuration design
Distribution (upto 132kV) protection and control design
Network planning and project development
Project management of HV substation design/ construction projects
We are looking for the following skills and personal qualities:
a good level of competency in all Microsoft Office applications, ideally with the aptitude to learn sophisticated analysis software
excellent inter-personal, verbal and written English communication skills
confident, with the ability to work either independently or as part of a team
able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way
able to supervise and mentor junior electrical design engineers
flexible and willing to travel to other Atkins offices and client offices both within India and overseas if required.
capable of building and maintaining strong business relationships with clients and colleagues.
