Under the general direction of the Regional Projects Manager, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring projects are designed to meet the needs outlined in the client departments, hamlets, community organizations, and non-governmental organizations program requirements from initiation to completion. This includes devising a strategy to complete all projects assigned, determining technical adequacy in areas of expertise of project drawings and specifications, delivery of projects within budget, recommending and certifying construction and consultant contracts and completing projects in accordance with governing codes and project terms of reference.
To be invited for an interview you will have post secondary certification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management with two years of related experience or a Technology Diploma in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management with five years of related experience. You will also need 8 years of directly related project management experience in the construction field.
The successful candidate will be required to submit a satisfactory Criminal Records Check through the RCMP.
Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset. Equivalencies that consist of a combination of education, knowledge, skills and abilities to formal education and experience requirements will be considered.
This position is included in the Nunavut Employees Union and has a starting salary of $70,551.00 per annum, plus a Northern Allowance of $15,234.00 per annum.
