| Job Description: |
Our client is searching for a highly experienced Software Architect, who is a specialist in Gaming Applications. This is a technically oriented position where by you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining systems and work processes to provide a Gaming Platform in J2EE/ ORACLE/C++ environment.
The key responsibilities will be as follows
• Create and maintain a long term enterprise wide Gaming application architecture, bringing together future vision, current best practices and legacy systems.
• Perform technical assessments for a range of new initiatives.
• Provide consultation and mentorship to multiple project teams. Serve as the technical application design authority on multiple projects by creating and maintenance high-level design and other relevant technical requirements documentation.
• To be part of enterprise architecture group that shapes enterprise technology, strategy and architecture roadmap.
• Establish technical standards and best practices, leveraging industry standards. Ensure projects are aligned with the IT Strategy and compliant with corporate technical standards.
• Work with our software vendors to understand and leverage existing product capabilities and shape direction of the product to best benefit the company needs.
• Meet new vendors to increase awareness of technology trends and assess the potential benefits to the company
• Advise senior IT leadership (technical skills required, organizational structure).
• Build and sustain commitment to IT strategy by mentoring lead developers and advising IT management on best maintenance practices.
• Create processes and techniques that will improve performance and maintainability of applications.
• Establish industry standard quality performance indicators for gaming platform that will be monitored and managed by IT ops.
Experience and or Qualifications Requirements
• 8+ years experience in applications development in similar environment (gaming, trading, e-commerce).
• 3+ years experience as development manager/ software architect working in large projects.
• Hands on experience in J2EE/ORACLE environment.
• Experience in client development would be an asset.
• Experience in introduction of new technology standards, processes and procedures.
Skills / Competencies
• Demonstrated expert knowledge of development in server side technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to build, manage and motivate a team
• Strong coordination and project management skills
