| Job Description: |
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Quality Assurance / Food Safety Manager, consist of, but are not limited to: Ensure compliance with all company policies, local, state, and federal regulations. Ensure the following facility programs are enforced: Safety, HACCP, Food Safety, GMP's, Preventive Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Sanitation.
Maintain all plant Quality Assurance programs. Perform annual policy and procedure reviews. Oversee outside lab testing with attention to cost, compliance, and accuracy. Oversee plant pest control program. Conduct monthly GMP and food safety audits. Manage internal customer compliant process. Conduct semi-annual mock product recall. Ensure all policies, procedures, and requirements, for all third party audits are followed and direct annual audits. Understand the customer is the first priority, and support that priority. Staff the quality assurance department with trained employees and communicate the sense of urgency with all employees that are needed in a manufacturing environment. Communicate with Sanitation Manager to ensure plant sanitation requirements are met. Monitor the usage and waste of purchased items. Monitor Plant environmental testing program and follow up with plant maintenance and managers on issues of concern. Assist as needed with product and packaging reviews and changes that may occur with plant management and internal sales associates. Complete all reports for company management, vendors, and customers as required in a timely manner. Develop performance improvement plans for employees as needed. Communicate and be aggressive in regards to cost reduction in all areas relating to the Quality Assurance department. Chair monthly department meetings covering pressing issues, plant performance, and training.
MUST HAVE at least 0-3 years of previous QA/QC Management and/or strong Supervisory experience from within a Food/Bev |
