Oracle Configurator - Consultant
This position will be responsible for the Configurator module of the Oracle Implementation. As a member of the global design team this position will work closely with local Configurator and Order Management resources to create configurable models and implement these for various sales and service modules including Order Management, Quoting, iStore, and Installed Base. In addition, this position will also be responsible for ensuring that site specific requirements are designed, configured, and implemented to work in conjunction with the Global footprint.
This position will establish and Technically lead the team that will develop and support Configurator models on an ongoing basis.
This position should have intimate knowledge of Configurator design and modeling, Bill of Material restructuring, and the Oracle Configure to Order processes. Some familiarity with and awareness of Advanced Pricing, Configurator attributes, and designing Configurator Extensions are also required.
Key Tasks
• Provide solution design and validation testing around
O Bill of Materials restructuring
O Configurator model structure
O Configurator rules
O Configurator user interfaces
O Naming conventions
• Develop Standards and Guidelines around Configurator Modeling
• Lead and manage Configurator TECHNICAL development activities across sites, responsible to Project Management Office
• After implementation should provide leadership towards continuous improvement
• Teaching and Developing users at the site on the Configurator functionality of Oracle, if necessary
• Document and review materials for setup and training
The Sr. Oracle Configurator will work with the Quote to Order technical team/support team to perform production support and new development in the area of Oracle 11i Configurator and related e-Business applications. Specifically, this individual will serve as the developer on analysis, design, development, enhancements, and testing of the Oracle Configurator, Quoting, Sales Contracts, Install base and Order Management applications. This individual will work directly with functional support team and Users to resolve production problems. Production support requires a 7x24 response for emergency conditions and off-hours work for build releases.
Responsibilities
Provide production support for the Oracle Configurator and related modules like Quoting, Sales Contracts, Install Base & Order Management WIP, INV applications. This includes 7x24 coverage for emergency conditions.
•Identify and propose technical solutions that meet business requirements.
•Perform problem analysis, debugging and coding as part of production support and new development.
•Create technical specifications, and unit test plans.
•Provide work effort estimates.
•Assist with the build release process as required. This is an off-hours activity.
•Work with End-Users, DBA Team, Functional Team, Operations, and Infrastructure Teams as required on problem resolution and enhancements.
Requirements
Must be able to create an order using configurator and book the order through OM.
Knowledge of Advanced Pricing Module and Integration to Configurator Pricing
Knowledge of Sales Online (SFA) Module Integration with Configurator through Quoting
7 or more years of IT experience in design, development, debugging, and production support of Oracle business applications, with at least 3 years experience on Oracle11i Configurator.(11.5.9 preferred)
Must have 3 plus years of working experience in the following modules:
Configurator, Quoting, Sales Contracts, Install Base, Advanced Pricing, Order Management
Prefer experience in the following development languages and tools: Oracle 11i Configurator Application Development Tools, Oracle PL/SQL, JAVA J2EE, JSP, HTML
Implementation experience with the Oracle Configurator components of the Configurator Developer & the Configurator Runtime
Excellent understanding of Configurator Schema
Ability to use Configurator Developer components including the creation of the model structure, rule definitions, UI design and the use of functional companions.
Ability to design and develop Functional Companions for complex business rules that cannot be implemented using Oracle Configurator Developer.
Deep knowledge of Oracle Bill of Materials
Good integration knowledge between Oracle Configurator and Oracle Advanced Pricing/Contracts/Quoting
Ability to analyze requirements, perform a gap assessment as well as perform module configuration set-ups/maintenance for the above mentioned Oracle Modules
Thorough understanding of Configurator-APIs for integration & extensions.
Understanding of MACD Solutions
College degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field of study is preferred.
Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
