Construction Manager
The Major Projects Construction Department is headed by the Major Projects Construction Manager, who is directly responsible to the Major Projects Manager for the Department's performance . The Construction Manager reports to Major Projects Construction Manager and his specific functions are to :
1. Manage overall Construction Project activities
2. Approve selection, assignment and development of all Construction Department personnel.
3. Implement construction policies, procedures and methods designed to attain the greatest efficiency, economy, safety, quality, and client and contractor relations.
4. Assist Major Projects Construction Management in advising of construction activities including contractor performance, safety, project progress, extraordinary problems, personnel and construction policy and procedures.
5. Initiate construction planning and programming for all assigned projects including the development of data for use in the field.
6. Advise and assist Project Management and other organizations as may be required.
7. Participate in any decisions regarding move-in dates as directed.
8. Participate in and guide constructability and construction planning in both the proposal and preconstruction phases for assigned projects.
9. Review material for each new project.
10. Coordinate the construction project appraisal system with Program Controls and Project Management
11. Monitor job reporting procedures to ensure that all requirements are followed, that cost and progress reports are compatible, and Project Management report requirements are met.
12. Review and monitor design engineering input.
