| Job Description: |
Position is responsible for the creation of profitable, new products for the targets business within Honeywell's Electronic Materials SBU. This includes managing a direct team (5) and leveraging the organization for sputtering products in memory, aluminum, titanium, photovoltaic, flat panel display, and other adjacent markets outside of microelectronics. This also includes working with external partners to leverage outside capability for new product creation, new processing, and new application methods. This role also requires portfolio management, customer roadmap alignment, customer issue resolution, and a leadership role in the business. Achieve timely research & development, and production transfer of new products to high volume global manufacturing is key to success in this role. Ideal candidate would have a background in materials science, sputtering, and OEM tools, and worked in semiconductor memory segment, or Oem.
Major Areas Of Responsibility includes the following. (Other duties may be assigned.):
- lead the team, and play a leadership role in goal setting and business deliverables
- align internal technology roadmap to customer and OEM roadmaps
- improve application testing and in-charge of Endura cluster tool
- customer relationship and qualifications
- create strategy and execute on plan to capture new business with changing roadmaps
- fundamental understanding of metallurgical concepts including, but not limited to; soldering, bonding, interfacial reactions, sputtering, thermo-mechanical processing, casting, phase diagrams, and diffusion
- expand reach beyond semiconductor space to adjacents like PV, FPD, disk drive
- with members of the development team, the commercial group, customers and OEM’s to identify, define and conduct development projects.
- with process engineering, equipment, quality and production departments to transfer developmental technology into production.
- portfolio management of new and existing products
- participate in 1 year Annual planning cycle, and 5 year strategic planning cycle and execute to plan
- lead and able to use statistical problem solving methods, participate in brain storming exercises and conduct designed experiments as needed.
- lead design of robust manufacturing processes in collaboration with other team members.
- six sigma methodologies in day to day activities including statistical problem solving methods, designed experiments, measurement system analysis, product scorecard and any other black belt tools that apply to the problem at hand.
- new manufacturing technologies and processes that complement or expand HEM’s core competencies.
- IP portfolio management and innovation for the team and self
- focal point for development of new sputtering targets, including materials selection, and design for manufacturing (DFSS)
- works closely with commercial, sales, PM’s as technical contact for customers/ OEM’s and bring back to team to drive alignment
- assist in new business models, open innovation, business development activities

Skills Required:: |
· A Masters degree is required in Mechanical/ Metallurgical/ Materials or related degree with related industry experience for 5 years
· An MBA or Ph.D. degree in engineering is highly preferred with industry experience for 3 years
· Must have a minimum of 7 years experience in engineering management/leadership within a demanding and fast paced environment.
· We would prefer experience with a large, premier, manufacturing entity
· Experience in OEM, Memory, Targets a definite plus
· Expertise with, Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.
· Experience with employee relations, employee and leadership development.
· Must be willing to travel 25% or as required.
· Must demonstrate ability to work and influence peers and upper management.
Location: Spokane, WA. Relocation is available.
