Occupational summary:
To manage all aspects of purchasing of goods and the processing of requisitions within a Food/Retail
Environment
Work Performed:
Process requisitions and purchase orders for goods/services for the Gourmet Station store
Determine appropriate delivery method of procurement of goods and services in accordance with
Company policies and procedures
Prepares and solicits competitive bids from qualified vendors; negotiates appropriate terms and
Conditions
Evaluate suppliers based on price/quality/service support/availability of product/selection etc.
Maintains procurement records, such as items/services purchased, costs, delivery, product
Quality/performance and inventories
Discusses defective or unacceptable goods/services with vendors, relies information to Store
Manager/Head Office accordingly
Coordination of the storefs product requirements schedule with the schedule of various vendors
Accounts for contingencies or alternate plans on purchases
Close liaising with the finance department on all related aspects; pricing/payments etc.
Monitors and evaluates efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures
Responsible for all goods entering the store
Oversees and participates in the analysis of existing and new products
Reviews contracts for the procurement of all materials/goods/supplies
Keeps close level of communication with all suppliers
Responsible for monitoring stock levels
Monitors all purchase requisitions issued
Daily system up]date on all purchased goods/stock levels
Prepares reports according to company policies; for both operational and exceptional issues
Expedites orders and requests as needed
Communicates any price/contact changes with suppliers immediately to Store Manager/Head Office
Payment of vendors to be followed through with the Finance Department
Supports the Store Manager with the preparing of weekly/monthly reports
Ensure that all items received are in excellent condition, quality and quantities are as per purchase order
Rejects all unsatisfactory goods/materials delivered

Skills Required::
Required Qualification At This Level:
Educational/training:
Work requires a Bachelorfs degree, preferably in Business or discipline appropriate to the assigned
Commodities.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience in a comparable position/environment.
SKILLS:
Knowledge of procurements & policies/procedures
Strong background in procurement/contracting/scheduling/inventory management /quality control and
Stock control
Excellent communicator and negotiator
Strong financial awareness
Excellent computer skills
Fluent English, both written and spoken
