Our Client is a GPS location based service company selling fleet tracking software and hardware as well as integration to fleets as small as one or two vehicles up to enterprise accounts with tens of thousands of vehicles. The Company also sells abroad internally within our current sales channel mix. The company’s current three year growth rate of 318% was recognized as the 70th fastest growing company in the software industry. The home office is in Irvine, California and sales office is opening in Memphis soon. This position will be based out of Memphis.
We are trying to attract the right type of Pre-Sales Engineer that would fit our client’s culture and this fleet tracking industry. If you are someone who is comfortable hiding in the weeds in a large organization this position is not for you. We are looking for engaging, outgoing and innovative thinkers who appreciate being a part of an aggressive sales and marketing growth company and who at the same time wants to provide their experience and know how to help engage with the sales professionals across the country. We’re looking for an intelligent, outgoing, and creative problem-solver with a technical mind and strong presentation skills with the ability to explain sometimes complex technical concepts to non-technical people as well as very technical people in addition to providing an overview of a non-complex technical concepts to business owners who just sometimes don’t have too much time in their busy schedules. You will be working with small business clients as well as face to face with “C” level Fortune 500 companies on a weekly basis. A Presales Engineer will:
• Acquire detailed knowledge of our Client’s proprietary software product offering as well as either have or acquire industry knowledge in order to design and communicate solutions for customer’s business problems as well as positioned to understand our Client’s software platform.
• Provide technical consulting to the sales force and prospective clients
• Needs programming experience with .NET - vital for this position.
• Answer pre-sales and technical questions via email, conference calls and web presentations
• Design and present targeted solutions based on explicitly and implicitly stated requirements
• Develop and implement technical training initiatives regionally and locally
• Conduct technical Regional Training for our end-users both on-site and at various locations around the U.S.
• Be a really good problem solver have a critical thinking mentality with a technical aptitude with the ability to translate that thought process to end users and sales professionals.
• Essentially, the position is based on a technical background with a good understanding of the fleet tracking GPS industry as well as a good understanding of the wireless industry.
• Must understand customers needs (internally and externally) must be handled effectively
Pre-Sales Engineer Profile:
The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of GPS based fleet tracking as well as baseline Systems Engineering skills with at least 3 years experience selling IP solutions to carriers or similar solutions in the fleet tracking industry or wireless industry; has knowledge of relevant solutions sets, product line understanding, performance criteria and applications in the GPS fleet tracking market and or wireless industry; has strong written/verbal communication and listening skills; is able to work effectively and add value as a team member in a very strong team oriented culture; has strong problem solving skills: the ability to assess a challenge and determine an effective course of action with a positive end result; is able to do self development and to seek out for information when needed; thrives in a small, fast-paced strong growth company environment.
The ideal candidate will also be able to generate presentations from a non technical and a technical point of view and articulate them with account team/customer; is able to identify/qualify sales opportunities and take initiative with account team to secure business that will lead to revenue generation; has the ability to understand technical issues and the ability to apply solutions, technology and products to a business opportunity; has demonstrated ability to successfully be a part of a national sales team with specific goals and sales targets and benefit financially from those.
The ideal candidate must have technical and business understanding of the GPS Fleet Tracking business and or wireless industry; has demonstrated knowledge of an overall application solution selling from a business and infrastructure perspective including intimate knowledge of the customers, various business requirements and future trends; has competitive knowledge including solution, technology and product offerings; is understanding and conversant about company, competitors, technologies, solutions, product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
