| Job Description: |
Principal accountabilities
- Redevelop existing Powerbuilder applications. This includes developing functional specification, analysing the system, redeveloping/converting the system to .Net application, resolution of operational failures, design and execution of enhancements to existing systems, testing the system, implementing the system, commissioning the system and handover the system.
- Design and construct programs and related technical components in accordance with BSP and Shell Group standards.
- Participate in system and acceptance testing.
- Provide technical support and advice to clients.
- Provide technical documentations and user guides.
- Provide knowledge transfer to the local development team.

Qualifications
Required
- Degree in Computer Science or related field with 5 years experience as a programmer.
- Excellent experience in Application and System Development in Powerbuilder 5, .Net and Oracle tools.
- Knowledge in Windows 2000, Windows Vista and UNIX
Preferred
- Having worked in an environment supporting applications in an Oil Exploration and Production organisation would be an advantage.
- Knowledge in Oracle 10G would be an advantage.
Experience
- Capable of, and have experience in, developing and maintaining information systems for large or medium organisations using standards and methodology of system development cycle, and have fair understanding of test methodology, quality control and change management process.
- Experience in web technology and application development in .Net environment, Powerbuilder, Visual Studio 2005, VB script/ Java-script would be an advantage.
- Experience in converting Powerbuilder applications to .Net would be an added advantage.
Training
Special Abilities
- Membership to BCS would be an advantage;
- Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing coupled with the skill to easily understand and influence others to change.
