Applications Support Engineer
1. Provides support for Operations Support Systems, (OSS) servers located in NOCs.
2. Investigates & resolves S/W and H/W problems to maintain maximum availability of the systems.
3. Performs applications configuration, administration, planning, and performance.
4. Performs servers/systems configuration, administration, planning, capacity planning, performance, architecture, backup, and restore.
5. Provides first level support to operations staff.
6. Runs monthly service usage bill runs.
Ensures that backups are made at the end of every working day to avoid any risk of loss, sabotage or destruction of data.
7. Troubleshoots and solves any major problems related to the OSS servers.
8. Decides on the necessary software/ hardware upgrades or new software applications.
9. Supervises the training of the Company’s personnel on the proper use of the software applications.
10. Prepares and submits quarterly progress reports to the OSS/BSS Team leader to update him on the progress of the OSS/BSS Applications operations.

Skills Required:: |
- Good understanding of major software applications.
- Experience with OOP.
- Networking, TCP/IP & OSI concepts understanding.
- Working knowledge of database modeling/administration Able to work flex hours and provide on-call support.
- Goof Knowledge of Windows OS
- Working knowledge of database modeling/administration is preferable.
