| Job Description: |
Job Purpose
- The Contract Engineer will provide commercial and supply chain support in several key business areas, delivery of Company business activities and vendor performance management.
- To ensure contracts are awarded at the most favourable financial terms available in accordance with the Company’s contract policies and procedures.
- To assist Contract Holders in the commercial management and administration of contracts.
Principal accountabilities
- Provide pre and post award contract services in line with Category management, meeting agreed timeframes without jeopardizing quality or commerciality.
- Ensure that the supply chain process is auditable and conforms to Shell Group Business Principles, BSP business plans, standards, policies and procedures.
- Contribute to development of category supply chain and contract strategies with the business including identification of appropriate KPIs.
- Ensure high-risk contracts meet the Contract management minimum standards.
- To utilise eProcurement tools such as Online Bidding and SAP.
- Implement HSE management by utilising HSE capability questionnaire in all new tenders.
- Tender preparation and issue, preparation of bid evaluation models and/or negotiation plans, commercial evaluations and assist in the final recommendation for approval by Commercial Authority of Fact Sheets and Contract Strategies including compilation of tender, contract document and all contractual correspondence.
- Clarify terms and conditions and ensure appropriate document review of tenders, contracts and variations.
- To ascertain and raise variations and amendments to contracts.
- Assist in negotiations and evaluation of contractual claims including resolution of disputes.
- Assist Contract Holders in monitoring contract and contractor performance against KPIs; support regional/global/local BPRs.
- Contribute to periodic reports and keep the OMNICOM/SAP systems up-to-date.
- Ensure compliance with US Export Controls and relevant Competition Law.

Skills Required:: |
Qualifications
Required
- Good University Degree. 3 - 7 years of relevant experience in providing Contract Engineering services to the Line.
Preferred
- Degree in Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- A professional qualification in Procurement, e.g. CIPS, is highly desirable.
Competence Required
Experience
- Sound knowledge of Supply Chain activities.
- An understanding of legal principles and commercial/contract awareness of industry contracting practices.
- Solid experience in pre and post contract development and management.
- Enterprise First mindset and behaviours.
Training
Special Abilities
- Operate with minimal guidance and supervision.
- Good communication skills; able to work and communicate with staff from a wide range of technical backgrounds and management levels.
- Practical, good business sense and strong analytical skills.
- Good command of spoken & written English skills.
