Job Summary - The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day cross-functional operations of the assigned study or studies for one or more clients. As the team leader, the Senior Project Manager will ensure assigned studies are delivered successfully, on-time, within budget, according to client expectations and with the highest level of quality possible. The Senior Project Manager may manage any combination of the following: single or limited services study or a full-service study, generally regional in scope. A Senior Project Manager may also participate in managing a portion of a larger global studies within a given geographical region (i.E., Americas, Western Europe, etc.)
Job Responsibilities
In a matrix environment, manage, lead and motivate the assigned cross-functional project team, facilitating the team’s ability to fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with project contracts, contract amendments and Omnicare Clinical Research policies, procedures and SOPs.
Develop and maintain close working relationship with the client’s study management teams to ensure client satisfaction, operational and customer service excellence.
Ensure successful design, implementation, tracking and maintenance of project plans for assigned projects.
Manage day-to-day operational aspects of assigned projects including third party vendor activities.
Working with the Omnicare Clinical Research functional areas, determine appropriate revenue forecasting and revenue recognition based on project plan, budget and contract deliverables.
Proactively track budget and scope changes, obtaining necessary client approvals for change in scope of work. Initiate and follow up on change order/contract amendment activities.
Review, approve and follow-up on project invoices.
Working with Omnicare Clinical Research functional department leads, determine and manage project resource needs and utilization according to project contract and contract amendments.
Communicate and coordinate project timelines for all required project functional service areas, client and third party vendors, as required.
Plan, participate, and present at investigator meetings, as required.
Plan and lead client meetings and project team training sessions.
Accountable for developing and maintaining project metrics, timelines and deliverables.
Lead internal team, client and other project related teleconferences and meetings (may include agenda and meeting minutes preparation/review.)
Communicate expectations for roles and responsibilities to assigned project team members and ensure those expectations are fulfilled.
Ensure project documentation is complete, current, stored appropriately and audit-ready.
Function as primary liaison between client, third party vendors and Omnicare Clinical Research project team for project issues, including initiation, planning, execution and close-out of assigned studies.
Proactively communicate to appropriate Omnicare Clinical Research management, client and third party vendors as warranted about project progress, potential issues and appropriate recommendations for issues resolution, i.E. Global Project Management Processes (GPMP), etc.
Participate in business development activities as required.
May participate in Omnicare Clinical Research task force initiatives.
Present at both industry and internal meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Regionally home-based personnel must maintain an appropriate work environment to support a business atmosphere.
Supervisory responsibilities
Generally, no line management responsibilities unless deemed necessary on a regional-needs basis.
May have mentoring responsibilities for Project Managers.
Supervises day-to-day project-related tasks for assigned project team members in a matrix environment.
Provides quarterly feedback to line managers on project team member performance.
Training And Experience
1. Minimum education
4-year or equivalent college degree from an appropriately accredited institution, preferably in science or nursing or applicable industry-related experience.
2. Minimum Related Experience
Five years relevant clinical research experience in pharmaceutical, device, biotech or CRO setting.
Two years project management experience required, multi-country experience preferred or proven track record to supplement experience.
3. Specialized Training, Skills and Abilities
Sound knowledge of clinical research procedures and practices including local regulations, GCP/ICH Guidelines and relevant local regulatory requirements for the conduct of clinical development programs
Proficient in computer use and project management applications/tools.
4. Other
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
Good understanding of financial management (time and cost, forecasting, revenue, margins, profit and loss, invoicing, etc). And resource utilization.
Demonsrated team leadership skills.
