Purpose of Job
The methodical investigation, analysis, design, construct, test and document systems in accordance to the requirements of the business.
Principal accountabilities
• Assist in analysis and developing Functional Specification in accordance to the requirements of the business.
• Design and construct programs and related technical components in accordance to BSP and Shell group standards given a Functional Specification.
• Participate in system and acceptance testing, or technical evaluation of packages.
• Provide technical support and advice to clients.
• Develop Technical Guide, End User Guide and Training Guide.

Skills Required:: |
Required
Degree in Computer Science or related field with 5 years experience as a programmer.
Proven skills and experience in Application and System Development in Powerbuilder and .Net.
Knowledge in Unix, Windows NT and PC desktop.
Preferred
Having worked in an environment supporting Logistics-related applications in an Oil Exploration and Production organisation would be an advantage.
• Knowledge in Oracle 10g.
Competence Required
Experience
Capable of, and have experience in, developing and maintaining information systems for large or medium organisations using standards and methodology of system development cycle, and have fair understanding of test methodology, quality control and change management process.
Experience in migrating Powerbuilder application to .Net is an advantage.
Experience in web technology and application development in Visual Studio, VB script/ Java-script would be an advantage.
Special Abilities
Membership to BCS would be an advantage.
• Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing in English language with the skill to easily understand others.
