Purpose of Job
To administer and monitor the BW daily operations, provide end-users support and to perform BW upgrade activities.
Principal accountabilities
This position will involve on-call responsibilities with other team members to:
• Administer the daily scheduled updates of BW InfoCubes, including setting up batch jobs and optimising the batch schedules. Maintain documentation for BW operations.
• Operate the BW helpdesk support and problem resolution to business users on the BW reporting and queries. Problem management of BW. Consolidate BW Helpdesk statistics for management reporting.
• Implement operational excellence in the day to day activities like: daily monitoring, PSA management, technical testing, delta loading, continuous proactive improvements, documentation, trouble shooting, updating issue status
• Maintain the BW landscape and technicals, perform BW upgrades, testing and cutover activities. Including project related rollout such as ETR, EPMIS, XMIT, Web reporting.
• Produce monthly BW Usage KPIs for distribution.
• Identify business opportunities and promote the use of BW. Assist in the analysis and design of new data and report requirements. Prepare change request.
• Focal point for all BW development and implementation inconjuction with SAP Blueprint program and DSO
• Focal point to coordinate all BW issues between BSP and DSO.

Skills Required:: |
Qualifications Required
• Degree in Computer Science, preferably with 6 years experience OR an HND with 10 years experience IT practitioner.
Competence Required
Technical Skills
Technical skill in BW: SAP components extraction; data warehousing and modeling; reporting and analysis; performance and administration. Building and activation of BW components such as InfoObjects, InfoSources, ODS, InfoCubes, queries and SAP Business content.
• Knowledge of data warehouse design approaches. OLAP, SQL, ETL and metadata management.
• Skill in the SAP BW/BI implementation and rollout.
• SAP BASIS skill such as CCMS, Job scheduling, transports, performance tuning, trouble-shooting and analysis
• Programming knowledge in ABAP is an advantage
• Skill in BW Administrators workbench
• Functional knowledge on an R3 module is an advantage
• Knowledge of IT software change management & support
Processes
• Knowledge of ITIL processes is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills in helpdesk support.
Experience
Minimum of three years experience in SAP BW data loading and monitoring.
• Minimum one year working experience in SAP BASIS including CCMS, Job scheduling, transports, performance tuning, trouble-shooting and analysis
• Having experience in EPBluePrint BW design and worked in E&P environment.
• Having worked in application development & support for two years would be an advantage.
• Having worked in Unix and Windows 2000 environment
• SAP experience with one of the SAP modules (PS, FICO, WM, CPL) would be preferred
• Having worked for E&P business is an advantage
