| Job Description: |
This leading Healthcare Organisation is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a permanent role based in Qatar.
In the role you will responsible for assisting the Pharmacists in the supply of medications to patients, and the management of drug stocks including distribution to the clinical areas.
He / she shall ensure service responsiveness, and an effective drug supply chain that assures availability and cost-effective utilization of drugs. He / she shall compliance with professional standards, and safety regulations and controls.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists Pharmacists in the preparation of medications for filling of prescriptions (including picking, counting and labeling medicine) in accordance with professional, legal, safety, and operational standards.
Assists Pharmacists in the preparation of drugs such as IV admixture, total parental nutrition and reconstitution of medications.
Assisting the procurement pharmacist in preparing orders.
Manages drug stocks at assigned dispensaries, including maintaining optimal stock levels and monitoring closely expiry dates.
Maintains the pharmacy safety programmes including safe handling and storage of drugs, proper disposal of expired products and chemicals, and mechanisms to reduce medication events.
Ensures the preventive maintenance and calibrations are conducted periodically on all major equipment and accessories.
Assists in the production of non-sterile products.
Assists the Pharmacist in the repacking of medications.
Maintains strict confidentiality and proper storage and back up of patient prescription records.
Ensures the efficient utilization of resources.
Able to work under pressure and minimum supervision.
Assumes any other responsibilities as directed by the Clinical Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager within the scope of the Pharmacy Technician.
To apply you will hold a Pharmacy Degree or Diploma with at least 2 years hospital pharmacy experience.
Good product knowledge and understanding of pharmaceuticals, pharmacy equipment and consumables would be advantageous.
