| Job Description: |
Purpose of Job
To schedule and execute all preventive maintenance routines (mechanical) and corrective maintenance works within the area of responsibility.
To support new projects as and when required.
Principal accountabilities
• Hold toolbox meetings before each job is begun and ensure that all safety precautions have been taken into account and cascaded to the workforce.
• Highlight inadequacies of access or maintainability with respect to new or changed plant.
• Complete the necessary documents, certificates and permits to work (PTW) correctly and obtain full documented authorisation before work execution.(including electrical)
• Confirm that all necessary mechanical, electrical and instrument isolations are in place before work execution.
• Highlight tooling and resource requirements.
• Liaise with the scheduler/material expeditor on the transportation and material requirements.
• Organise, supervise and execute maintenance in line with preventive maintenance schedules and plans, complete all checksheets fully and route to the relevant support engineer.
• Use correct tools, materials and approved replacement parts to complete the task.
• Co-ordinate mechanical works with instrument and electrical activities.
• Organise and carry out troubleshooting and immediate repairs in the event of unplanned breakdown of equipment.
• Update the status of work requests in the maintenance database (MAIS).
• Input manhours and history into MAIS for all completed work orders
• Ensure that work permit and site preparation and cleanup procedures are cascaded to all workforce personnel.
• Provide feedback on potential hazards.
• Ensure that records for safety-critical equipment are fully completed and up to date. Highlight deficiencies.
• Ensure all sub-ordinates are fully conversant with and have confidence in emergency and evacuation procedures.
• Report in detail on the root causes of failures and repeated repairs/maintenance and suggest recommendations for improvement.
• Report deficiencies in the maintenance management database.
• Analyse work execution performance
• Analyse manpower utilisation and performance.
• Ensure that the workforce, both BSP and contractor, has access to on-site HSE documentation
• Ensure cleanliness of work-site and material store.
• Minimise the impact of maintenance activity on venting, flaring and discharges.
• Recommend improvements to working procedures and techniques.

Competence Required
Experience
Have working 3-5 years experience on painting, chipping on oil and gas industry
Training
Special Abilities D32/D33 certification
