Job Description: This leading Organisation is seeking a Production Engineer/ Production Technologist.

In the role you will join the EOR and Studies team in the Petroleum Engineering Department (PED).

The Production Engineer/Production Technologist will be part of the EOR and Studies team identifying Field development opportunities and studying EOR processes applicable to the Al Shaheen field in a multi-disciplinary team of a geoscientist and reservoir engineers.

The EOR and Studies team is focused towards achieving their objectives in close co-operation with the IPDD study team as well as the Operational Reservoir Engineering, Geooscience and Production Technology teams in Qatar.

Purpose:

The position is best filled by a multi-faceted individual, who will be responsible for providing production engineering input into field development plans involving CO2 and/or hydrocarbon WAG and other tasks in the area of production technology.

Identifying and implementing continuous improvement and knowledge sharing initiatives in well construction, completion, smart wells, stimulation, perforation and well intervention activities for EOR development is an inherent part of this job.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Develop sound completion concepts for WAG wells in terms of function, practicality and cost.
• Identify and promote new equipment and technologies in the area of responsibility.
• Develop reservoir surveillance and reservoir management plans for waterflood and WAG projects.
• Seek methods to improve stimulation and subsequently well productivity.
• Provide support in matters relating to facilities engineering.
• Remain abreast of latest technological standards and applications.


Education and Experience:

• A degree at the BSc level in a relevant engineering discipline or physics.
• Six years of upstream oil and gas experience.
• Must have worked in a WAG production operation.
• Experience with CO2 injection is desirable.
• Experience with monitoring techniques such as tracers in an advantage.

Skill set/Competences:

• Be a good team player and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Have strong analytical and communication skills.
• Possess diverse experience in all facets of well construction and completions.
• Working knowledge of reservoir engineering, geology and petrophysics.
• Flair to develop and execute third-party engineering studies.
• Understand the importance of interdisciplinary communication.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
