This leading Organisation is seeking an Offshore Electronic Assistant or Principal Instrument/System Technician
The client is currently engaged in further development of the Al Shaheen Field offshore Qatar. This includes drilling of more than 160 additional production and water injection wells, as well as establishment of three further offshore platform locations with production and accommodation facilities.
In order to strengthen our Production operations, they are looking for an electronic expert to handle mainly the process control system offshore.
Nature and scope of work:
The control system consists of a SCADA part, a Fire & Gas part and an Emergency Shutdown part.
2 different makes are used offshore, The ABB Master System and the Siemens S7 System.
Work on the system will include:
Troubleshooting of failures in the system, both internal or on various field equipment
Change and update of the mimics
Change and update of software and set points
Reviewing planned system changes
Supervise vendor reps working on the control system
Besides the process control system, the job will include:
Planned work and repairs on communication systems like Line of Sight, radio system, company PC network and telephone system
Planned work and repair of networks
Assist maintenance personnel in trouble shooting on PLC controlled equipment
Participate in commissioning and run in of new equipment
Qualifications:
The candidate shall have good qualifications in electronics and as a minimum a couple of years experience from a power plant, automated process industries or a similar job in the oil industry.
The job is offshore in Qatar and on a 28/28 rota, and the working environment is multinational.
