| Job Description: |
This leading Organisation is a Senior Geologist for a full-time role based in Doha, Qatar.
The Senior Geologist will be part of the EOR and Studies team, which studies the EOR processes and their potential implementation in the Al Shaheen field. The EOR and Studies team is focused towards achieving their objectives in close co-operation with the IPDD study team as well as the Operational Reservoir Engineering, Geooscience and Production Technology teams in PED in Qatar.
Purpose:
The position is best filled by a multi-faceted individual, who will be responsible for reservoir characterization in static modeling, assessment of reservoir heterogeneity and geochemical modeling, which serve as input for simulation screenings of the studied EOR processes.
The team has a high focus on gathering field and laboratory data relevant for the most promising processes identified. Effective project management of university projects and sub-contracted studies involving geochemistry and core analysis will also be required of the candidate selected for the position.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Construct new fit for purpose static sector models and full field models for reservoir simulation of the studied EOR processes
• Identify and promote studies to improve the reservoir characterisation of the Al Shaheen reservoir.
• Maintain a high technical standard.
• Interact with the Geoscience team to stay abreast with the development progress and ensure that new results from both studies and new wells are incorporated in the work of the EOR team.
• Provide support to the reservoir engineering.
• Integrate the 3D seismic survey results with the studies in the EOR and studies team.
Education and Experience:
• MSc or Bsc Degree in Geology with a minimum of six years of relevant experience from the industry
• Experience in reservoir geology including reservoir characterisation, assessment of reservoir heterogeneities, static modelling, application of geostatistical methods and probalistic in-place volume assessment
• Experience working with platform carbonates with high focus on sedimentology, reservoir facies, depositional environment, sequence stratigraphy, diagenetic processes and their effect on reservoir quality.
• Knowledge of reservoir engineering disciplines, petrophysics, geochemistry and SCAL an advantage.
• Competent experience and capability in using geologic computer software packages.
• Experience in leading and managing external projects.
Skill set/Competences:
• Be a good team player and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Have strong analytical and communication skills.
• Be experienced in using static modeling software packages (Petrel).
• Working knowledge of reservoir engineering, production engineering and petrophysics.
• Flair to develop and execute third-party studies.
• Ability to function in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Understand the importance of interdisciplinary communication.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
