Special Requirements:
-Mechanical Engineering Bachelor's or equivalent from Four Year college or university
-Five to seven years experience in the design of automated machinery or robotics
-Familiar with electrical engineering is helpful
-Computer skills required: Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Catia, CAD and 3D modeling
-Complete understanding of machine shop manufacturing procedures
-Ability to design machine control systems and motion control
-Familiar with codes and requirements for mechanical systems in regards to OSHA
-Experience with the design of pneumatic controls systems
-Ability to take an idea from the concept stage
Job Description:
Designs and develops complex, automated machinery for the attachment of fastening products into external customer products and components. Serves as a liaison between the engineering and product groups. Actively participates in engineering projects to develop new machinery and equipment to be used by our customers to improve productivity and quality. Develops solutions for new applications where none exist and improves existing equipment. Develops patentable ideas and complex systems that prove successful in the industry.
Personally designs, develops and assembles new machines, machine improvements and modifications. Installs and tests equipment in the field. Communicates changes and the progress of projects. Complete on time and within budget.
*Serves as liaison between external customers, sales and the R&D department
*Assisting in securing the technical requirements necessary to improve existing and new design
*Serves as a technical resource to assist the sales staff and promote worldwide development
*Train both R&D and Field Service personnel regarding new technology and problems
*Provide advice regarding service procedures and maintenance of current equipment
*Serve as a role model to subordinate employees as well as a neat, orderly work environment
*Fluency in Spanish would be an advantage
