| Job Description: |
Responsibilities: Planning and carrying out activities with the children in the childcare center, making referrals as appropriate on child development issues, working with area agencies that will assist Life Haven to meet the needs of young children and their parents, maintaining records as necessary for state and center regulations, maintaining a safe and clean environment in the childcare center, maintaining program guidelines, and attending team meetings and training as required.

Skills Required:: |
Qualifications: Minimum of a Child Development Associate credential. Ability to work independently and to supervise volunteers. Ability to create and implement curriculum and to conduct informal assessments with children. Reading, writing and math skills at a high school level minimum. Ability to problem solve and to work in a team. Preferred: Previous experience working in a residential setting, prior experience in working with low-income and multi-cultural parents. Bilingual and bicultural abilities in Spanish/English also a plus. Persons with life experience with homelessness or the welfare system also preferred. |
