Job Function
The Senior Account Manager is responsible for generating the sale of Cognos products and services at quota levels and managing the customer relations.
Duties And Responsibilities
1. Sales Achievement: Meet, or exceed Cognos licence, new maintenance and services sales targets set by your regional sales manager.
2. Territory Management: Identify and qualify prospective strategic accounts and penetrate major significant target prospects; develop business solutions for customer needs; sell the Cognos portfolio of web enabled EBI products.
3. Meet, or exceed the required customer & prospect contact requirements, which includes visits, demonstrations, partner liaison, and in house prospect demonstrations. Develop and implement a territory marketing plan.
4. Product Knowledge: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the Cognos CPM solutions, product plans and strategic direction. Be able to communicate this well and able to do introductory demonstrations of products.
5. Team Leadership: Interface effectively with all departments within the organisation. This includes excellent communication, resource management, team involvement, interaction and cooperation.
6. Administration: Ensure the required company reporting (such as forecasts, up-to-date pipelines, etc) information transfer, completion of tenders or customer requests, and other requirements are completed in an efficient and timely manner. You are responsible for keeping accurate and up-to-date customer information in the sales management database.
7. Practice the principles of company policy and loyalty.
Education & Experience
• Solid direct software experience, including sales to IS and end-user decision makers
• Proven successful performer
• Experience selling enterprise solutions to major accounts.
• Clear understanding and successful application of strategic selling techniques
• Experience networking with partners, strategic vendors and the “Big 5” consulting firms.
• Success in establishing, developing and leveraging “C” level contacts in the market-space.
• Experience at developing new business, continual pipeline development and understands territory management
