| Job Description: |
Job Description: This technologist will analyze and manage the technology used to secure the Enterprise Information resources and assets. This technologist is responsible for developing new configurations and technical standards to ensure system and infrastructure reliability, and creating and adopting best practices and other methodologies to improve work process performance and results.
This technologist has responsibility for vulnerability assessments, server and workstation hardening standards, anti-virus architecture, authentication system management (Active Directory, RSA ACE and others), patch management architecture, elevated access management systems (Firecall), and encryption system design.
This technologist works with other IT groups to drive understanding of key sensitivities, and to ensure systems are built, configured, integrated, tested, and deployed in compliance with security architecture, processes and standards. This technologist will provide technical consultation and 24x7support for these systems during implementation and production.
Job Specifications:
This technologist must be a quick study of new technology and be able to analyze the security components of complex multi-layered computer systems (applications layer, middleware layer, and infrastructure layer). This technologist must have an understanding of technical and process security controls and their appropriate incorporation into business systems. Strong impact and influence skills are required. A focus on teamwork and the ability to escalate unresolved issues to management in both technical and non-technical terms is required.
Knowledge of and experience with:
-Active Directory and other authentication systems such as RSA and ACE
-Windows 2003 and Windows 2000 server platforms
-Techniques and tools used to secure/harden a server’s operating system and applications running on the server
-Patch management systems
-Elevated security access systems
-Anti-virus architecture
-Vulnerability assessment techniques
-SQL database security concepts
-Encryption, cryptography, public key infrastructure (PKI)
-Scripting and system calls in a Windows environment
Responsibilities And Accountabilities:
-provide 24X7 technical security support for technologies listed above.
-Facilitate the authorship and maintenance of security technology configurations and standards.
-Create system-level security architecture and design which includes definition of technical security controls (e.G., access control, authentication, encryption, deterrence measure, etc) and definition of non-technical security controls (e.G., process and procedure) necessary to achieve the security requirements and remediate audit finding.
-Execute a cost/benefit analysis for various security design elements. This will enable the business owner to evaluate various cost/benefit trade-offs.
-Test detailed security configuration to ensure it complies with technical standards and meets system performance and production load requirements.
