| Job Description: |
1. Will deal with pre-contract assignments - preparation of conditions of contract,
project specifications and bill of quantities covering civil, electrical, plumbing and
air-conditioning works.
2. Will be responsible for finalising contracts with contractors, sub-contractors &
suppliers during pre-contract stage ensuring compliance with Company directives
and on obtaining necessary approvals from the Management.
3. Will assist the Management in obtaining contract approvals from legal authorities
& formulating project related insurance.
4. Will be responsible for checking quantification and billing by contractors
including material and labour and ensuring cost and time controls, i.e. timely
completion of projects within the established budget.
5. Will periodically monitor and analyse wastages over permissible limits and
suggest corrective actions for control of project costs.
6. To prepare/get prepared variation orders well in advance and get approval from
the Management and/or clients so that additional funds are made available and aid
in timely completion of the project.
7. Will maintain all contract correspondence, necessary documents & records as
advised by the Management.
8. Will provide guidance to the Project Management & other support teams in
complying with contractual terms & conditions.
9. Will formulate and substantiate claims and assist Management/Project
Management/Purchase team(s) in negotiation & resolution of
client/contractors/sub-contractors/suppliers’ claims & variations.
10. Will support the Purchase department in completion of all vendor identification
and provide guidance on alternative procurement planning in case of issues arising
out of quality, delivery or price of materials.
11. Will handle arbitration cases with contractors whenever disputes arise. |
Skills Required:: |
Civil Engineer with a minimum of 10 yrs experience in estimation, costing, measurement, billing, certification etc for large scale building projects. Should have the capability and experience to deal with all contractual matters with
clients and contractors. |
