General Manager – Business Development
Ports & Containers’ Terminals
Middle Eastern region
Our client is operating an international ports-management company who are managing terminals for global third parties and for themselves. They are seeking to recruit a high caliber professional to lead their Business Development function within the Middle East region.
Reporting to the Head, Business Development; the incumbent shall identify & develop new terminal related activities including expansion of existing facilities within the Middle Eastern region. As a part of the company’s over-all strategy; he/ she would participate heavily in drawing the Business strategy. Accordingly, he/ she would create the long & short term business plan by matching the budget as well as over-all business objectives.
The job holder is responsible & accountable in identifying business opportunities across the region whether in the area of offering management services or in the area of investing directly in joint-ventures or partnerships. He/ she would need to identify opportunities and apply the related parameters accordingly. Therefore, he/ she will conduct due-diligence on technical as well as financial basis, risk assessments, resources required comparative analysis vis-ŕ-vis available resources, cash flow analysis and present an operational plan for proceeding.
Another important aspect of the job is to follow the market changes on continuous basis, respond to public tenders, conduct Competitive and PEST analysis as well as follow up with market changes.

Skills Required:: |
The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years work experience within ports & terminals business. He should demonstrate in-depth industry knowledge; hands-on experience at operational level and carry out a highly strategic analysis. Also, networking with the top professionals within the industry is a certain plus. Possessing strong negotiation skills armed with pricing and market knowledge is a must.
