| Job Description: |
WPRS are actively recruiting for a Lead Engineer/Technologist for a permanent role based in Qatar.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
This position will require project engineering/product specialist skills to ensure customer satisfaction. In this role, the ideal candidate will:
* Identify customer requirements (technical/products problems, execution and startup/operational issues) and suggest solutions.
* Attend customer meetings (kick off, coordination review, close out etc).
* Coordinate technical issues with customer and internal GE groups.
* Participate in internal design activities and technical decisions.
* Ensure the proper understanding of technical customer needs inside
the organization.
* Perform assigned tasks including definition, approach, analysis, review, and implementation- on schedule and within budget
* Make technical decisions by application of multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge/skills.
* Recommend technical approach, required resources, and schedule interfaces with other Engineering Departments, Centers of Excellence, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, Global Research Center, Suppliers etc. as required.
* Leverage prior work where appropriate.
* Communicate status and problems to project leaders and management.
* Provide training and direction to technicians when needed
* Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
* Provides technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project.
* Documents technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
* Provides timely communications on significant issues or developments.
* Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
* Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program
reviews.
Key desired requirement is Gas turbine operational and performance experience, no need to know any one particular component in great depth but has enough system knowledge to understand how the different components can work/interact together.
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
* At least 3 additional years of experience in an engineering position with the ability to communicate clearly/effectively with customers
