Buyer, Indirect Purchasing (Japanese Speaking)
Location: Singapore
Major Responsibilities
Analyze customer requirements and source merchandise from most competitive supplier(s);
Apply agreed RFQ procedure, perform pricing analysis, compile Quotation for customers decision
Manage all sourcing requests and orders to satisfactory conclusion, including facilitating resolution of any delivery or invoicing issues where applicable
Seek merchandise feedback from customers
Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and source new suppliers for future products or new merchandise ideas for active introduction to customers
Manage suppliers performance and identify areas for improvement
Feedback information on suppliers performance on a project basis to appropriate senior staff
Support preparation of statistical reports, management reports, marketing materials, presentation slides, correspondences and other ad hoc reporting requirements
Pre-requisites
Degree or Diploma in any discipline
Minimum 2 years relevant experience
Excellent verbal communication and written skills with ability to communicate at all levels
Multi cultural, excellent English language skills
Ability to communicate JAPANESE is a must
Excellent customer focus skills coupled and ability to resolve project-related issues
Ability to understand customer requirements and source from market
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with lots of initiative and drive
Negotiation and influencing skills, a must
Able to multi task and prioritize
Mature, meticulous with an eye for details and strong numerate skills
Systems and computer literate, a must;
eAuction experience is an added advantage;
Good work ethics with a sense of urgency and accountability
Willing to learn and be a team player with good interpersonal skills.
