| Job Description: |
ROLE:
Responsible for field service installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair for new and existing customer applications in and around Edmonton, AB. Remain on-call and travel extensively to various customer sites to perform/provide complete drive system start-ups, maintenance, inspection, and repair services to ensure proper performance and customer satisfaction. Assist in and provide some level of training.
Essential Functions/ Regular Responsibilities:
1. Remain on-call and service-ready to travel to customer sites for new and existing jobs orders.
2. Disassemble, diagnose, repair, service, reassemble, and test hydraulic motors, Power Units, and/or complete drive systems using hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
3. Provide on-site service for new system start-ups and existing installations, retrofits, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
4. Complete service work according to customer applications and factory specifications.
5. Prepare all written documentation according to standards to summarize and report on-site service work for internal and external customers.
6. Complete service work with follow-up service calls to customers.
7. Test hydraulic drive systems and electrical control cabinets prior to shipping to ensure conformity to customer specifications.
8. Provide and support formal training on service, repair, and maintenance work for both internal and external customers.
9. Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
10. Support Manufacturing and Service departments in all forms of service for hydraulic motors and complete drive systems.
11. Organize all travel arrangements for on-site service calls.
12. Prepare and submit expense reports to appropriate personnel in an timely fashion.
13. Always adhere to and practice all safety and quality standards and practices.
14. Work overtime or after core-business hours as required to meet work goals/objectives.
15. Perform all other duties as necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
„q Associate¡¦s degree in Applied Sciences or equivalent work experience.
„Q Millwright Certification is preferred.
Experience:
„q Two (2) to four (4) years as a Field Service Technician or relative position.
„Q Two (2) to four (4) years in the field of hydraulics or related field.
„Q Programmable logic control (PLC) or electrical design work.
„Q Some work with direct customers.
„Q Extensive travel associated with previous positions.
„Q On-site or field service work.
„Q Hydraulics, Power Transmission exposure/experience.
Skills And Abilities:
„q Fundamental computer operation skills.
„Q Good knowledge of equipment, machines, and how to use hand and power tools for repair, installation, and maintenance.
„Q Ability to read basic hydraulic schematic.
„Q Mechanical aptitude in repair and maintenance of industrial or heavy equipment.
„Q Demonstrated critical thinking and trouble-shooting skills.
„Q Excellent active listening and active learning skills.
„Q Great at developing and maintaining customer relationships.
„Q Sound in the safe operation and monitoring of equipment, machines, and/or systems.
„Q Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
„Q Work well under demanding timelines and in high-urgency situations.
Work Environment:
„q High level of field support or outdoor work with complex equipment in potentially hazardous environments. Small and limited space work may be required to perform service.
„Q Frequent to moderate exposure to odors, particulates, chemicals, inclement weather; and
„Q Moderate level of work in service shop with ventilation, moderate lighting, and moderate to high noise level.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to effectively perform the following on a frequent basis:
„Q Move, sit, hear, discern, speak, and see;
„Q Use finger dexterity to type, adjust, move, handle, perform, operate, install, attach, remove, apply, grasp, manipulate, and measure;
„Q Transport, rotate, reach, pull, push, stretch, twist, stoop, bend, crouch, and adjust positions;
„Q Lift a minimum of fifty pounds; and
„Q Perform physically strenuous work activities/tasks for a continued period of time under demanding conditions.
Other Requirements:
„q Ability to travel to various job sites, customer plants, etc. (including by plane and by driving) where exposure to potentially hazardous environments may exist.
„Q Possession of a valid driver¡¦s license.
„Q Motor vehicle insurability.
„Q Potential to travel internationally.
„Q Possession of a valid passport is most convenient.
