Senior Project Controls Engineers are being sought by our clients London, Edinburgh and North-West regional offices.
We require a number of Senior Project Controls Engineers to work on a variety of commissions, potentially as key members of larger teams or as consultants leading smaller commissions. This may be as a long-term team member supporting a larger project or programme of work, or may involve shorter-term commissions that involve setting up systems and processes, providing audit/review or training services. SPCE’s are expected to be proactive, self-starters with highly developed communications and analytical skills.
To be considered for these roles, you will be a qualified graduate in a relevant discipline with experience in a project control environment. You will have a proven track record as a Planning or Cost Engineer.
Typical activities include managing small teams to develop a suite of planning and cost baselines, monitor against these baselines, and produce project control reports and provide performance analysis and recommendations for our clients. This may be for single projects or programmes of work. Alternatively, on shorter term commissions, SPCE’s will analyse the clients requirements and provide recommendations / solutions to meet their needs.
You may have a distinct planning or cost engineering bias, or may fill a more generalist project controls role, being conversant in both planning and cost engineering methodologies and being able to ensure that an integrated project control approach is adopted during all their activities.
Senior Project Controls Engineers should be numerate and computer literate, highly competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, planning software such as Primavera and utilising reporting databases. They will also be familiar with financial/procurement systems such as Oracle and SAP and web-based project control tools. SPCE’s should be able to pick up new systems readily and utilise them in highly effective ways.
Ideally, you should have experience of working on complex, high capital spend engineering projects such as Rail, Light Rail, Utilities, Power, Oil and Gas Telecoms, IT, Defence or Aerospace.
