| Job Description: |
A large hematology/oncology practice is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide individualized nursing care to patients in accordance with established Cancer Center guidelines and nursing care standards. Responsibilities include Coordinating and providing direct patient care, performing ongoing assessments, delivering patient education, and documenting in accordance with standards & regulatory guidelines. Must collaborate with physicians to ensure good patient outcomes. Demonstrated knowledge with chemotherapeutic and related agents, pain management medications, hydration fluids and other parenteral therapy including but not limited to intravenous drugs, chemotherapy and biotherapy, and anti- infectives. Must have knowledge in the following areas: access and care of central venous access devices, blood sampling via peripheral venipunturel, venipuncture, emergency management of adverse reactions related to infusion therapy including vesicant extravasations and anaphylaxis, OSHA regulations, and phone triage including excellent assessment and communication skills.
Qualifications include OH RN license, experience with infusion and maintaining central lines, and Oncology experience. OCN and BLS certification preferred.
