About Us
Our client is a multi-service company providing studies, development, engineering and project management services for power, process and infrastructure projects. Our involvement in power is long established; services have been provided in some eighty countries, over five decades.
Our expertise covers the whole range of power sector projects including; thermal, hydro, renewable energy, and transmission and distribution systems.
Our clients transmission and distribution expertise covers all levels of voltage to 500KV.
About the Role
Be responsible for the Programme Management of a Euro 380 million portfolio of Power Projects covering Thermal and Hydro Power Plant, Transmission and Distribution construction and reinforcement. Assist in management of the Field team based in Douala comprising 8 Project Managers, a Project Controls Manager and an Accounting Manager drawn from Scott Wilson and the JV partner for the Assignment.
The Resident PM reports to the Head of Power who is based in the UK.
The role will include Managing the contract in terms of both Client relations and commercial viability, oversee the implementation of a primavera programme reporting system to full functionality as the basis of project reporting and control (both schedule and cost), ensure the Programme Reporting Process is properly executed. Arrange and chair Monthly Progress Meetings and any other meetings required for the successful execution of the assignment as well as implement and monitor the Quality Manual (Project Execution Plan).
You will act as the representative on the Project Directorate and be the be the point of contact for liaison with the Client senior personnel outside of Cameroon.
The position will be based in Douala Cameroon. Mobile, flights, travel and accomodation all provided.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who is degree qualified with extensive experience in Power Projects and a demonstrable track record of team Management. A mechanical or electrical engineering background in power plant is preferred though the successful candidate will have become a generalist over the various disciplines. You are likely to have worked in project offices of a Utility, Consultant or Contractor and will be able to demonstrate practical experience of managing multi-disciplinary projects. You will be flexible in your approach allowing you to operate effectively either leading or working within project teams.
Experience of managing similar projects overseas would be a definite advantage. Conditions are negotiable but this would be an unaccompanied role.
