Primary Objective
•to process all fruit in a timely, cost effective and efficient manner
Key Responsibilities
•contribute to the company’s development of innovation, long term strategies and plans
•Develop and recommend strategies for the department to the general manager
•Develop three year rolling operating and capital budgets for the department
•Implement the departmental operating and capital budgets to ensure the profitability and long term viability of the

•Process all fruit within planned cost and within agreed time, quality and efficiency parameters
•Report to the general manager and other managers on agreed production and quality parameters.
•Manage the department to ensure that targets are achieved through effective use of human, financial, physical and
Information resources
•Ensure that the milling operation is efficiently and effectively staffed and that the agreed training programme is
Implemented
•Maintain all buildings, plant, equipment and machinery within the mill and bulking station and assigned to the mill in
A cost effective way ensuring that mill availability is within agreed limits at all times
•Manage stores to ensure the effective and cost effective supply of tools, equipment, materials and parts is maintained
To run the department
•Ensure that the department’s operations conform to environmental policies, guidelines and laws
•Ensure that the department’s operations conform to occupational health and safety policies, guidelines and laws
•Liaise with engineering experts in order to ensure that input use is optimised and efficiency of operations is improved
