| Job Description: |
Our client, a prestigious and leading real estate developer in the Gulf region, is looking for a topnotch Journal Voucher Accountant for their office in Abu Dhabi.
Overall Objectives Of Position
Preparation & passing Journal voucher entries and ensuring that Journal voucher transactions are processed in accordance with company policy and authority limits, Maintains the general ledger chart of accounts and updates as necessary.
Reporting Relationship
The J/V Accountant reports to the Payables Controller.
Main Accountabilities And Duties
• Preparation and entering journal vouchers regularly into the system.
• Keep track of all journal vouchers that need to be passed on regular basis and on ad hoc basis
• Prepares and maintain monthly accrual, outstanding, amortization & depreciation etc schedules
• Periodic review of trial balance and ledger scrutiny for proper cleaning of accounts and pass necessary journal entries accordingly
• Maintain project accounts updated by passing all project payment certificates, advances adjustment, retention adjustment J/V’s on time.
• Secure necessary J/V approval before posting them into the system
• Maintain all schedules related to journal voucher passed as supporting
• Responsible for ensuring that the general ledger is accurately updated. Reviews and posts all journals.
• Periodic coding of accounts and updates financial system accordingly
• Performs key control account reconciliations and ensures that they are cleared.
• Reconciles bank statements to ledger on a regular basis
• Review bank statements to ensure that interest, bank charges etc are accurate and in accordance with bank agreements.
• Performs variance analysis from time to time
• To prepare the un posted journal for Re-accruals after reconciling all the unpaid accruals with the provisional General Ledger for all the Divisions, and Cost Centers

Skills Required:: |
Knowledge, Qualifications And Experience Required
• Masters / Bachelor degree in accounts
• Excellent knowledge of MS software products
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in large sized organization in accounts
• Attention to detail
• Diligent worker, team player
• Sound administrative skills |
