| Job Description: |
1) Key Accountabilities
• Executes the creation or evolution of the enterprise architecture function/program across business units to synergize Business and IT strategies of key business units.
• Leads the development of an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture based on business requirements and IT strategies.
• Identifies organizational requirements for the resources, structures and cultural changes necessary to support the enterprise architecture.
• Undertakes EA execution exercise for key business units
• Defines and implements EA Value communication plan
• Collaborates with GCIO and CTO to define strategy with focus on sourcing, architecture, application change plan and infrastructure change plan
• Leads definition of technology framework & controls for implementing the technology standards with Governance teams
• Drives adoption of SOA and EDA across enterprises
• Refines and approve enterprise architecture principles for IT Strategy
• Create Methodware and technical Framework for ecosystem driven initiative – Logistics Bus and Community Bus
• Drive the technology selection for Logistics Bus realization after studying the requirements and exercises in conjunction with solution architect, information architect, Business apps architect
• Defines the process for engaging through to research labs identifying key areas of research linkages
• Identifies key initiatives which will transform the solution delivery performance for demands, quality and timeline to deliver
• Jointly implements and monitors the performance of initiatives for solution delivery
• Mentors the software develop lead to grow providing him/her with suitable insight, research material, experience from field and in making Governance decisions
• Ensures that best practices from other industry leaders are brought into and we publicize the work done
• Ensures that Mainstream technology vendor strengths are suitably assessed and brought into technology landscape
2) Performance Indicators
• Assemble the EA Team
• Target Business Programs for EA
• Documented EA process, Communication Pack for Value of EA, process, governance
• Undertake two EA execution projects for one Lifestyle and one Logistics Domain Business Unit
• Generate list of perfective and adaptive changes required for next year ~ 1 per BU application portfolio at a minimum
• Make available ITC IT strategy elements
• Define the technology controls framework
• Level of service documentation in service registry >= 80% for all process and activity services in use
• Availability of EA principles as part of IT Strategy
• Readiness of Technology selection ~ 70% for Logistics Bus process deployments
• No of evaluation reports for technology triggers ~ 1 per quarter
• No of Initiatives per quarter identified and approved = 1
• Success rate of initiatives > 80% in year-1
• Time spent on solution delivery issues ~ 10% per month
• No of conferences attended > 2 per year
• No of papers written on Industry forums by EA group > 5 per year
• Architecture awareness sessions = 2 per year
• No of Vendor briefings > 3 per quarter
3) Job Context
• The ecosystem driven vision for logistics and community bus throws in complex challenges of not only inter and intra BU collaboration and integration business process, but also how can the ecosystem players (3PL providers, freight forwarders, Hauliers, residents, owners, businesses, prospects) are brought together on common collaborative single windows in each segment. Chief Architect role is crucial in ensuring that Trade and community business process re-engineering are guided with suitable frameworks, technology selections, partnerships with vendors to be able to deliver this through series of well defined articulated and achievable milestones.
• EA delivers the enterprise connected View to the Business unit or an ecosystem. Currently engaged at major changes at BU level as well as ecosystem level (Logistics Bus and Lifestyle Bus). EA has a huge part to play as it is expected to articulate why we do what we do, how the process maps to application which delivers certain services and is deployed on an infrastructure.
• The application design strategy is SOA and EDA and the EA must marry the classic definition of enterprise architecture with SOA/EDA
• The oversight over technology selection has a deep impact as standardized set of technologies are driven across whole IT.
• IT has been the first to introduce several important technologies and practices in the region, it is expected that the Chief architect engages in networking at right levels to ensure that these are publicized and lessons learnt from other places within the region and the world are also brought back.
• Demonstrates alignment with IT strategy by creating reusable assets, frameworks, practices, services, service registry through the EA group

| Skills Required: |
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
• Graduate degree in computer science / computer engineering or related Information Technology field
• 15 years of combined practice experience in at least four IT disciplines such as
O Enterprise architecture
O Technical architecture
O Software delivery – COTS/Bespoke
• Insight into all major technology and business trends impacting IT environment of large corporations – collaboration, knowledge management, Customer management, Yield management, Analytics, Human Capital management, SOA, SOI, semantic web, BPM, web 2.0, MDA, Automated impact analysis, Infrastructure trends such as virtualization, rationalization, business service management, IT service management
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation. Understanding of the political climate of the enterprise and how to navigate the politics.
• Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.
• Experience working in Large multi-divisional IT organizations including outsourcing, team management, Governance as applied to delivery from architecture perspective
• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent analytical and technical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture.
• Knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes.
• Advanced knowledge of financial models and budgeting, ROI techniques such as payback periods, TVO, TCO, ROI etc.
• Familiarity with advanced graphical modeling approaches, tools and model repositories.
• Ability to balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of individual decisions.
• Ability to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
