| Job Description: |
With a minimum of supervision, provide ESC-20, participating districts and other netVision20 partners with information resources, consultative services, technical assistance, network training, and end-user support pertaining to network and infrastructure. |
Skills Required:: |
Experience in using a variety of technology-based systems in instructional and instructional management settings.
Experience evaluating networking schemes for optimizing performance and user convenience.
Experience selecting, implementing, maintaining and evaluating computers and servers in a networked configuration.
Experience providing technical support for technology-based systems, preferably in an educational setting.
Experience with the installation, configuration, maintenance and support of operating systems and supporting software (e.g., Microsoft Windows/Novell Netware /Linux, Exchange/GroupWise e-mail systems, IIS Administration and WSUS patch deployment).
Experience managing and maintaining server farms including responding to emergency situations.
Experience with virus scanning, SPAM elimination and eradication systems in a network delivery environment.
In depth knowledge of Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server.
In depth knowledge of Active Directory, replication, GPO management and Active Directory Security.
Experience with Storage Area Network (SAN) technology and virtualization technology preferred.
Microsoft product certification or MCSE preferred.
Experience with various LAN protocols (TCP/IP) running over unshielded twisted pair (UTP) and fiber preferred.
Experience with switched and shared 10/100/1,000 base-T LAN design preferred.
Familiarity with internet domain-name addressing preferred.
Proficiency with standard functions within electronic applications such as MS Office (word processing, electronic spreadsheets, presentation software), e-mail, web browsers and databases.
Proficiency with computers (PCs and/or MACs) to include desktop management, file management and operations, and successfully working in a networked environment.
