Senior Resident Structural Engineer
Vacancy Title Senior Resident Structural Engineer
Description Key Responsibilities:
Plan and monitor work schedule for Assistant Structural Engineers and Engineering Inspectors.
Review and approve structural shop drawings and engineering material submissions.
Respond to contractors technical queries.
Liaise with the Buro Happold regional office.
Implement site quality assurance programme for structural and civil works.
Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved.
Ensuring all relevant BH staff are informed of client matters.
Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the clients best interests and that BH policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc.
Job requirements Qualifications:
Member of IStructE or equivalent institution.
Relevant Engineering Degree (Bachelors / Masters)
Minimum of 15 years experience, must include some high rise.
Job Purpose:
Based on site this role will provide high level technical and residential engineering services to the construction of the Buildings by Daman in Dubai.
The building consists of T shaped building in plan. The top of the T is a 100m tall office tower, with some retail at the top of podium level. The upright of the T is a 230m tall residential tower that also runs over the office tower and includes residential apartments, serviced apartments, a hotel and amenities. A pool is located on the top of the office tower.
There is a large void that passes under the office tower above the podium. There is also a void between the office and residential towers at the office levels. Above this there are openings for Sky Gardens in the residential tower. The podium occupies the full extent of the site and surrounds the towers. The podium houses ancillary services for the towers as well as carparking, including a section of automated carparking. The top level of the podium is landscaped with water features and a second pool.
