| Job Description: |
WESTPORT magazine offers internships in the year-round to currently enrolled college students and new graduates.
The internship program is designed to give college students an opportunity to complement their formal education with career-related experience in a challenging, creative and professional environment. Required time commitment: 15 hours per week during Fall or Spring semester or 20 hours per week during three summer months.
Interns will have the opportunity to observe and participate in the production of the magazine. Editors will mentor interns who want to develop their story-pitching and writing skills, and may be able to assign short writing assignments. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in creative projects and brainstorming sessions.
Tasks include: research projects; compiling entertainment news and reporting on trends; transcribing interviews; and performing administrative tasks including opening/sorting mail, photocopying, and mailing/delivering packages.
Because our internships are unpaid, we encourage students to look into/arrange to receive college credit for their participation prior to applying. |
