We are currently looking for a Tax Manager at our Batesville, IN headquarters.
Job Summary:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the tax department under the direction of the Director, Tax.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
* Support the monthly, quarterly and annual tax provision preparation and review process for US and foreign entities in accordance with FAS 109 and 10K/10Q tax disclosure requirements
* Assist in managing the compliance function to ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of the federal, state and local income and franchise tax returns, estimates and extensions
* Assist with federal and state audits/appeals including preparation or review of company`s responses to information data requests and notices of proposed adjustments
* Support various special projects including R&E credit, Section 199 deduction, transfer pricing, due diligence for mergers and acquisitions and high level tax research
* Identify, research, analyze and implement planning ideas with respect to tax return filing positions, worldwide organization structure and departmental policies and procedures
* Advise business units and other functions on tax matters and policy needed
* Manage staff utilizing standard HR process, including routine performance reviews, and follow all company policies/practices
* Other duties as assigned

Skills Required:: |
Education And/or Experience Required:
* Bachelor`s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and 5 to 8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* MBA and/or CPA a plus
* Public accounting experience a plus
* Progressive corporate experience focused on federal, state/local planning, compliance, FAS 109 and audit defense (US-based manufacturing environment preferred)
* Strong economic orientation with business and bottom-line focus
* Results orientation
* Previous supervisory responsibility and project management
* Analysis and reporting experience utilizing accounting and tax software, databases and Excel spreadsheets
