Volt Delta Resources LLC, a Division of Volt Information Sciences, offers Directory Assistance, Mobility and Telecom, Data and Media, and IT Outsourcing services to the Telecommunications, Financial Services, Contact Center and Enterprise markets. We have an opportunity for a Switching Systems Engineer in our Orange, CA facility.
In this technical role, you will be responsible to analyze the business requirements and designs as well as for the implementation of the infrastructure. Other duties will include monitoring of the datacenter resources for system and server utilization with the ability to make recommendations for capacity analysis; manage detailed inventories of equipment in datacenter production; and updating records. You will design, implement and maintain system and data security plans on various physical and logical levels in addition to plan and implement complex hardware, software and to a variety of servers and switches in a production environment.
There will be accountability for management/maintenance of eMaintech tickets for customer reported problems and collection of evidence to management for SOX audits. You will work with Development to resolve problems and recommend improvements for installation and documentation procedures. This will also include Project Management and Account Management teams. Processes related to product implementation/resolution in order to insure consistent quality will be managed in this role and you will have autonomy to create programs and scripts that support customers, internal reporting requirements and data center operations to insure data integrity.

Skills Required:: |
Ideal candidate will have BS in IT or related field in addition to 10 - 15+ years in telecommunications industry. Required is the ability to create detailed software problem reports for submission to Development along with insuring that all processes, procedures, system access, and problem resolution efforts comply with corporate certification, i.e., PCI, TL 9000. Previous experience in writing detailed methods of procedures for system modification and performing system modifications and upgrades within the framework of corporate change control environment required. Strong interaction skills mandatory to communicate problem descriptions and resolutions with management accordingly. Must be able to provide after hours problem resolution support on a rotating basis.
