| Job Description: |
This position is with the Computer Systems Segment of Volt Information Sciences, Inc. This particular division of Computer Systems, Maintech, provides IT infrastructure services to mission critical, multi-vendor, multi-site applications in the Staffing, Financial, Telecommunications and Research and Development markets. The division`s broad spectrum of IT design/implementation, procurement, project management and maintenance services, includes 24/7 managed network operations center and systems support group. We currently have an opening for a NOC Engineer for C shift at our Orange, CA location.
Our NOC Engineer is responsible for deployment, migration, maintenance and administration of the following: Windows NT/2000/2003 Server, MS Exchange 5.5/2000/2003, MS SQL, MS Desktop/Laptop platforms, HP and Dell servers. You will be troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software related issues and providing 2nd/3rd level response to customer problems. In addition, you will be analyzing, assessing, determining and implementing corrective actions suitable to the environment.

Skills Required:: |
Ideal candidates will have AA in Information Technology or in a related field or equivalent certificate from a trade school in addition to three to five years experience in network operations center and system administration. Strong technical knowledge of data networking technology including routers, ether switch and distributed applications systems running on a MS operating system. Additionally, candidate must have a strong understanding of data networking technology including routers, ether switches, and distributed applications systems running on Microsoft operating systems. Will have knowledge of telephony network, such as T1`s and TDM based telephone switching equipment; experience with network management systems and diagnostic tools, such as HP OpenView, Concord Communications; experience with HP/Compaq Insight Manager, and Dell Open Manage is highly desirable; working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems; ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously candidate must possess strong analytical skills and be an effective communicator, both oral and written. Must have the ability to manage demands with frequent changes or delays and to work in team environment.
Special Requirements: The NOC provides 24 by 7 coverage and the NOC Engineer may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays. This is a C shift position.
