Maintech provides computer system and LAN/WAN services to mission critical, multi-vendor, multi-site applications in the Financial, Telecommunications and Research and Development markets. The division`s broad spectrum of IT design, procurement, project management and maintenance services, includes 24/7 managed network and systems support. We have multiple temporary openings for Desktop Support in Schenectady, NY. These positions will expire at the end of the year.
You will act as a technical resource responsible for the desktop/desk side and server hardware support for a newly acquired customer. In this role, you will support a variety of platforms (HP, SUN, IBM, Cisco and Super Computers) and coordinate repair process with internal technical escalation points and vendor provided assistance. This position will give you the opportunity to collaborate with the customer`s IT staff and the Help Desk in resolving and escalating problems, as appropriate.

Skills Required:: |
The ideal candidate that we are searching for must possess the following:
-High School Diploma or GED
-Minimum of two to three years in servicing SUN Microsystems server hardware in the Enterprise or Sun Fire product line
-Strong background in Solaris O.S.
-Prior experience servicing HP UNIX servers, IBM RISC-6000 servers and HP Proliant hardware
-Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands
-Strong skills in problem solving
-Ability to work with attention to detail
-A+, Server +, and manufacturer certifications
-Needs to have an active secret/top secret security clearance
-Must be able to work a rotating on call 24x7 schedule as needed
