| Job Description: |
We urgently need a Section Engineer to ensure profitability by co-ordinating maintenance resources in area of responsibility to ensure safety of equipment, availability of production machines and equipment to sustain continuous production and meet production targets.
Specific experience required:
* Coal mining experience of which of 3 years must be in a supervisory capacity.
* Proven knowledge and experience of JOY mining equipment, coal mining methods, equipment, systems and mine infrastructure.
* Maintenance of underground production equipment.
Required Outputs: Functional:
* Manage, control and maintain production equipment, conveyor belts and electrical reticulation.
* Evaluate problems encountered by section in respect of infrastructure support and implement remedial measures.
* Drive condition based proactive maintenance actions.
* Monitor sub-assembly life, failure analysis and condition monitoring in conjunction with the team.
* Maintain safety and maintenance standards.
* Investigate and implement actions to improve productivity and cost effectiveness.
Qualifications and expertise required:
* B Eng Degree (Electrical or Mechanical) or National Diploma
* Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) – Mines
* Valid drivers license
General:
* Compile and manage an all-inclusive budget based on planned schedules.
* Liaise with the inspectorate of mining on statutory matters.
* Investigate and implement best practices in maintenance and operational of equipment.
* Develop, coach and train subordinates (mandatory training)
* Plan short and medium term activities
* Drive renewal and continuous improvement objectives (QCDSM)
* Use information to drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance system.
* Create and maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
* Execute administrative duties.
* Sound knowledge of the JOY JNA 2 control system. |
