A privately held corporation, Mercantila is located in San Francisco.
Position Profile:
Mercantila is seeking a software engineer with a strong proficiency in working within a large-scale web-based environment. This person will be working to develop a new and flexible platform that can scale Mercantila’s business efforts and provide more fluid interaction with Mercantila vendors and partners. The qualified candidate will have extensive hands-on development experience using object oriented design tools and be familiar with the LAMP framework. Engineers are expected to produce high-quality software in a dynamic environment with a minimal amount of supervision.
In particular, the candidate must have:
• 2+ Years Experience in Web Development
• eCommerce experience a bonus
• Strong PHP/OO design and development skills
• Strong LAMP development experience preferred
• Familiar with Agile Development Methodologies a plus
• Experience in designing and implementing for usability
• Experience with consumer oriented development a plus
• Working knowledge of Css/html
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
In addition, the preferred candidate will have:
• An aptitude toward taking meaningful actions over following the process.
• A degree in CS, computer engineering, math or equivalent technical discipline or experience. Advanced degree in any of these areas is a plus.
• Compensation: $85,000.00 - $130,000.00 (Salary)
• Experience Required: Mid (6 to 10 years)
