| Job Description: |
Responsibility: •Makes design decisions and recommendations coordinated with the project requirements that establish the basic design solution
•Directs the work of other engineers and drafters relative to the project requirements
•Works in a multi-discipline environment sharing and coordinating work to meet the project goals
•Establishes project staffing and schedule requirements and is responsible for meeting the objectives
•Works closely with other team members and the project manager
•Interfaces in a professional manner with clients to represent the firm and the project
•Represents firm in workshops and meetings to resolve important questions and to plan and Coordinate work
•Reviews project design by others (peer review)
•Provides analysis of difficult problems involving unusual technical complexity
•Makes routine decisions governed by established project standards or project instructions
•Provides guidance to other designers, drafters and engineers
•Consistently estimates accurate completion time of own assignments and effectively coordinates
With project team and across disciplines
•Regularly demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with other team members
Requirements: • Relevant engineering degree from recognized university
• Professional registration from a recognized body, e.G., Chartered Engineer or PE
• 10+ years of design experience
• Professional focus on the following building types
•high rise (20 + stories)
• commercial
• hotels
• apartment towers
• Excellent English - written & verbal
• Proficient in the use of computer analysis tools: ECODIAL 3.3, DIALUX, HEVACOMP
• Familiar with the following codes and standards:
• NFPA 70, 72, and 101
• British Standard BS 7671, IEE Wiring Regulations
• IES
• ASHRAE 90.1
• BICSI and EIA/TIA
• Strong electrical design experience:
• Extra low voltage systems (fire alarm security, home automation, CCTV, data/voice structured cabling and lighting controls)
• 11 kV voltage distribution systems including switchgear
• Lighting design including lighting calculations, energy efficiency, ASHRAE 90.1 requirements, IES LEED
• Short circuit and coordination study calculations and analysis
• Low voltage systems (electrical power distribution, emergency generators and
Emergency distribution And substations)
