Primary Function: Responsible for administering all aspects of maintaining and managing SQL Server Databases
Objectives Or Goals: Maintain multiple databases for use by our web-based applications and their data access logic and packages;
Areas Of Responsibility
1. Knowledge of Performance Monitor, SQL Server Configuration including advanced configuration (Awe)
2. Knowledge of SQL server Database engine, Lock Escalation, wait types
3. Maintain the SQL Server databases, improve performance of stored procedures, indexes, and manage replication jobs and backups and Tuning Replication Agents.
4. Ability to interpret Execution Plans and tune queries based on results.
5. Knowledge of DTS packages and SSIS Packages including VBScript and VB.Net.
6. Knowledge of Red gate SQL tool belt is a plus.(including SQL Backup)
7. Thorough knowledge of Relational database architecture and best practices. (including knowledge of Normalization, use of data types and indexes )

Skills Required:: |
Should be familiar with T-SQL, SQL Server 2K-2005, Windows 2K Server and Windows 2003 server.
Knowledge of DTS packages and SSIS Packages including VBScript and VB.net.
Knowledge of Red gate SQL tool belt is a plus.(including SQL Backup) |
