Job Description: General Summary

Acts as a focal point for all issues related to well production and stimulation. Prepares, formulates and updates procedures for petroleum engineering work practices. Continuous monitoring of the production operations and ensure petroleum engineering tasks being accomplished according to Aramco standards.

Main Responsibilities

Whenever feasible, jointly propose the deployment of innovative technology to improve base design.

Strengthen understanding of well performance and identify opportunities for Production Optimization.

Monitor and analyze production testing parameters to gain understanding of behavior of well and reservoir and identify production optimization opportunities. Calibrate production behavior with analysis tools and update dynamic model vertical lift tables.

Evaluate future workover requirements and define associated programs to maximize production ensuring technical quality and cost effectiveness of the solution adopted.

Provide broader petroleum engineering support to the Project, when required to support definition of production allocation procedures and advise on production forecasts.

Recommends changes in daily and weekly oil production rates to meet shipping schedules. Determines optimum production rates for wells.

Recommends changes required in operating condition of wells and production and loading facilities in conjunction with offshore production. Provides on going advice / instructions on production rates, well rotation and close downs.

Participates in planning short and long-term oil production schedules, taking into account well abilities and shipping requirements. Prepares daily feedback and prepares the weekly Operations Report.

Participates in recommending the construction of new well, gathering station and offshore production facilities, and the modification of existing ones.

Investigates and reports on the application of primary and secondary recovery methods, such as gas or water injection, pumping (ESP) and gas lift.

Carries out various studies aimed at optimizing well/field performance including water coring, simulating situations and providing recommendations.
Inspects and analyzes field operating problems of wells, facilities and equipment, and recommends remedies.

Prepares technical summary reports, project reports and summaries on oil production. Prepares annual project budgets for construction of production facilities and develops start-up and operational manuals for new production facilities.

Co-ordinates activities with other divisions in the oil production to arrange pressure testing schedules, to close wells, to co-ordinate requirements for ability testing and to prepare schedules for well testing work.

Carries out all activities in accordance with Kjo / Agoc safety procedures and manufacturer’s recommendations. Carries out ongoing studies to organize, store and manage available and future field/production data.

Provide cost effective solutions to Production Technology challenges. Demonstrating the sound use of engineering skills and reporting the results clearly and concisely, prepares graphics, spreadsheets, and tables to clarify reports.

Provide high quality technical input into new business evaluations and exploration activity and identify future work opportunities and refer the opportunities to the supervisor.

Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance System.

Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices for AGOC facilities. Understand and implement the OH&S procedures of the organization.

Skills Required::
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent. Additional safety courses will be an advantage.

Minimum experience of 12 years in extensive engineering and process operations in the field of Oil / Gas, Refinery or Petrochemicals.

Must have work experience as a Petroleum Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry with demonstrated Production Engineering expertise in optimizing well production in large oil and gas fields.

Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, and Power Point; must be familiar with Intranet environment.

Must be fluent in both oral and written English language and must have excellent report writing skills.

Strong leadership skills are highly desirable.
