Position Overview
QoS Networking has ongoing opportunities for Technical Writers. Join a qualified team of network and security specialists providing services to major state agencies and businesses in the New York Capital Region and beyond. The Technical Writerˇ¦s key role will be to produce application and networking documentation that supports the needs of QoS Networking and our clients. The Technical Writer will work with staff to implement documentation solutions that ensure technical information is effectively managed and shared.

Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years experience:
„X Examining the methods and processes of the business flow within a diverse public or private service delivery organization
„X Assessing and documenting existing business processes and identifying unnecessary steps
„X Incorporating value-added steps into a new process through the translation of business practices into terminology and desk products that seamlessly merge computer and microcomputer technology with work processes
„X Assessing and documenting existing business processes and identifying where improvements can be made or where new processes can be installed
„X Researching ˇ§best practicesˇ¨ of comparable organizations and analyzing the feasibility of installing them where needed
„X Developing new methods and procedures, implementation plans and schedules, and written reports
„X Eliciting and documenting business, user, and system requirements
„X Preparing Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
Desirable Qualifications
„X 5 years experience using system documentation tools to create documentation for use by development and/or testing staff, preferably with at least one year in a State human services program
„X 5 years experience analyzing business processes and developing systems documentation, preferably for a large scale complex human services development project
„X 3 years experience documenting software requirements using IBM Rational tools, specifically Requisite Pro and the Rational Unified Process, preferably for large scale complex human services development project.
