General Responsibilities
As an Osprey software developer/programmer, you will:
- Maintain and support (on-site and remote) existing software applications and programs
- Work with Osprey staff (e.g., senior engineers, support staff, product managers) to plan, program and test new software enhancements and releases.
- Educate potential customers and prospects on the benefits implementing Osprey’s solutions will have on their business
- Lead implementation of Osprey solutions at the project site
- Provide assistance to Osprey technical staff as required to resolve programming, database, or IT issues.
- Provide general IT support to Osprey and clients as needed.
- Pre-sales and technical/product presentation education
- Grow to become a Regional Product Manager
COTS Application Development
- Develop commercial off the shelf (COTS) software applications to help our client`s optimize their manufacturing operations
- Packet Sender Service to communicate with plant floor RTU`s and ensure propper network loading
- MS SQL Server back end data base to store and query production performance data
- Front-end engineering interface for full configuration of application
- Front-end user interface via corporate intranet / web via ASP.Net
- Development environment: Visual Studio 2008 (VB and C#), MS SQL Sever, ASP.Net
Requirements:
The software developer/programmer must have 2+ years experience with:
- Visual Studio 2005(2008), including Visual Basic and Visual C#
- Developing user interface applications over the web or corporate intranet
- Databases planning, configuration, integration and management including Microsoft SQL Server, MySql, Oracle and others.
- Structured Query Language, ODBC, ADO
- Windows Server (Domain and Workgroup) and Windows Vista/XP/2000 Operating Systems
- Network security planning and configuration
- Constantly upgrade programming knowledge
- Recommend changes for upgrade for in house software and reseller software.
- Upgrade security features on all systems, such as software key, download etc.
- Signing of Confidentiality Agreement, to protect intellectual rights of Osprey Engineering S/B and technology partners such as Control Station.
The software developer/programmer should also possess the following traits:
