| Job Description: |
Responsibility: The Health and Safety Engineer shall be site based & form part of a Management Team who assists in providing a safe work environment for all on site. The Health and Safety Engineer shall report directly to the Project Health & Safety Manager.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates who can demonstrate progressive experience in a similar role. The main roles and responsibilities of the position are as follows:
• Identifying and reviewing occupational hazards and carrying out risk assessments of the activities on site.
• Conducting briefing sessions on Health and Safety to our clients staff, contractors and visitors.
• Performing daily job site safety inspections & compiling reports for action.
• Review Contractors safety documentation for compliance with legal obligations & our clients Safety Management System standards.
• Coordinating activities during any emergency.
• Identifying safety training needs & reviewing the quality & effectiveness of same where necessary.
• Take part in accident investigations and developing procedures to prevent future occurrence.
• Take part in Safety Meetings to coordinate work activities on site.
Qualification: Diploma in Health and Safety and/or a professional Health and Safety certification such as Nebosh.
Experience: Prior experience in the Gulf Region would be advantageous.
